Junior Achievement (JA) is passionate people inspiring kids to learn the economics of life through free enterprise education. JA enables caring adults to share their experience with students to show them what it takes to be successful. After all, kids are our future!

JA’s business and economics programs are for students in kindergarten through grade 12. The dynamic interaction between the volunteer and the students promotes active learning and brings theory to life.

JA’s unique approach integrates program materials, trainings, and support. JA is the successful bridge between education and business.

Students -- JA students demonstrated a significant understanding of economics and business concepts – particularly those who participated in programs at consecutive grade levels, as determined by independent evaluators.

Mentors -- Volunteers serve as role models to help young people better understand economic concepts in order to become successful in the workplace and in life.

Investors -- Business, foundations, and individuals support JA because it teaches students about economic and business and because JA’s positive impact is measurable.

Educators -- Teachers welcome JA’s resources because they enhance the learning environment and reinforce the classroom curricula.

Can I Do This? Absolutely!

  • All educational materials are provided by JA
  • Complete program training is provided by JA
  • There is minimal time commitment
  • One hour a week for five weeks
  • Flexible teaching days and times

Remember, the time you spend volunteering today will make a lasting impact on the future of our youth.

Time Commitment

The time commitment from our volunteers is minimal as well as flexible. We understand how important your time is; therefore, the JA programs that are taught in the schools can be coordinated with your schedule and the teachers’ classroom agenda.
