About JA

ja kids pic web

Since its inception in 1964, Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana has grown to serve over 22,000 students in 13 counties in Southwestern Indiana and Southeastern Illinois. Business and community volunteers provide the youth of our communities with positive role models illustrating ways to build self-confidence, develop skills, and discover the free enterprise system.

JASWIN is available to any public, private or parochial school in grades K-12 in the 13 county service areas.

Our corporate and community volunteers deliver relevant, hands-on experiences that give students from kindergarten through high school knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship.

JA programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world – enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.
